Legal Agreement

Terms of Use

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 Last Updated: July 14, 2026 Version 2.1

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using VuCalendar. By downloading, installing, creating an account, or using the application, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

01

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and VuCalendar ("we," "us," "our"), the developer of the VuCalendar mobile application ("App"), governing your access to and use of the App.

By downloading, installing, creating an account, or otherwise using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use VuCalendar. Users under the age of majority in their jurisdiction must have a parent or guardian review and accept these Terms on their behalf.

02

Description of the App

VuCalendar is a personal task-planning application that organizes tasks around flexible parts of the day rather than fixed clock times. Core features include:

All task and planning data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. Supabase is used for authentication only. No task data is transmitted to our servers.

03

Platforms & Availability

VuCalendar is available on Android via the Google Play Store and on iOS via the Apple App Store. Both platforms are actively supported. Features, release timing, and platform-specific behaviors may differ between Android and iOS builds.

Your use of those platforms is also governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for actions taken by Google or Apple in connection with your use of their platforms.

We reserve the right to limit availability of the App or specific features to particular regions, devices, or operating system versions at any time without notice.

04

User Accounts

VuCalendar offers core task-planning functionality without requiring an account. However, creating an account is required to access purchase entitlements, premium features, and future functionality such as cross-device sync.

4.1 — Account Creation

You may create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google ("Continue with Google"). By signing in with Google, you authorize VuCalendar to receive basic profile information (email address and name) from Google solely for authentication purposes. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

When creating an account, you must provide accurate information and keep it current. You must not create accounts under false names or using another person's email address without authorization.

4.2 — Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

To protect accounts, the App applies a temporary access restriction after repeated failed sign-in attempts. This is a user-experience safeguard and does not replace server-side security controls.

Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include at least one letter and one number. We recommend using a strong, unique password.

4.3 — First Name

During account creation you are asked to provide a first name. This name is stored in your account profile and used solely to personalize your in-app experience (for example, the greeting in the Profile screen). It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

4.4 — Email Permission

At several points — the SkyVu waitlist, the Founder Member checkout, and other opt-in prompts on the website and in the App — you may choose to give us permission to email you. This is always voluntary. When you opt in, we store your email address together with a record of where the permission was given (the "source"), so we can send you the updates you asked for and nothing else. We do not sell this list, share it with advertisers, or use it for unrelated marketing.

You can withdraw permission at any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that removes you directly, and your unsubscribe status is recorded against your entry so we honor it going forward. You may also contact us at vuclndr@gmail.com.

4.5 — Password Reset

If you forget your password, you may request a reset link via the Forgot Password screen. Reset links are delivered by email and are valid for a limited time. If your reset link has expired, you may request a new one.

05

License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on a device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us.

06

Free & Paid Features

VuCalendar operates on a tiered feature model. Core task planning — including creating tasks, task blocks, time-of-day organization, all tracking modes, calendar views, notifications, import tray, and weather backgrounds — is available free of charge.

Certain extended capabilities require a purchase. These are organized into the tiers and products below — some bought inside the App through the app stores, others bought on the VuCalendar website:

ProVu
Recurring subscription
  • HistoryVu — reflection, analytics, and task history
  • Track Mode — unlimited tracking-mode assignments
  • Calendar Override — per-date task overrides
  • Backdate Planning — past-date task timelines
  • Multi-Adjust — staged bulk task adjustment flow
  • Overtime Resolution Assistance — interactive over-capacity resolution
  • Cycle — close a task run, snapshot it, and re-enter its lifecycle
LocalVu
One-time permanent purchase
  • SearchVu — search across all calendar views
  • File Artifacts — attach photos, videos, documents to tasks
  • Bulk Set — unlimited bulk set creation
  • Multi-Regiment — multiple regiment lists per task
  • Personal Library — custom-image backgrounds from your device
SkyVu
Coming soon
  • All ProVu features
  • Desktop app (Mac & Windows)
  • Cross-device sync
  • AI task intelligence

While your ProVu subscription is active, it grants all twelve entitlements — the seven ProVu features above plus all five LocalVu features. LocalVu features may also be bought individually as one-time permanent unlocks.

6.1 — Purchases on the VuCalendar Website

In addition to in-app purchases, three products are sold on the VuCalendar website and tied to your VuCalendar account:

  • Set & Forget — a single one-time payment for a five-year prepaid term that opens every ProVu and LocalVu feature. It is not a subscription: it does not renew, and it simply expires at the end of the five-year term.
  • Founder Member — a single one-time payment that grants twelve months of full ProVu and LocalVu access and permanent founder status. It is not a subscription and does not renew. The access and the status are two separate things: access lasts twelve months, while founder status is kept permanently.
  • Theme Store — a catalog of curated background collections, each purchased individually and owned permanently. One collection is free. The Theme Store is a web-only catalog — not a LocalVu entitlement and not a subscription — and collections may be purchased again at any time.

Website purchases require a free VuCalendar account, which links the purchase to the App over a secure connection. See Section 7 for how these purchases are processed, restored, and refunded.

ProVu is a subscription that unlocks the full set of paid features while active. While you are subscribed to ProVu, you receive access to all ProVu features and all LocalVu features — the LocalVu access is granted as part of your subscription. If your ProVu subscription lapses or is cancelled, the features granted through ProVu (including any LocalVu features accessed via the subscription) become unavailable. Your task data is never modified or deleted as a result.

One-time LocalVu purchases, by contrast, are permanent. If you purchase a LocalVu feature directly as a one-time unlock, you keep that feature regardless of your ProVu subscription status — owning it forever, separate from any subscription. Renting LocalVu through a ProVu subscription does not convert into permanent ownership; permanent ownership is achieved only by directly purchasing the LocalVu product itself.

07

Purchases & Subscriptions

7.1 — Payment Processing

VuCalendar has two purchase surfaces, each processed differently:

  • In the App (LocalVu, ProVu). Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) using their in-app purchase systems (StoreKit and Play Billing). VuCalendar does not handle payment card information on this path. Billing, receipts, and payment disputes for in-app purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's terms for the platform you purchased on.
  • On the web (Set & Forget, Founder Member, Theme Store). Purchases are made on the VuCalendar website (vucalendar.company) through RevenueCat's hosted web checkout. Stripe, acting as RevenueCat's payment processor, handles your card details. VuCalendar never receives or stores your card number; Stripe processes it.

RevenueCat manages your entitlement state across both surfaces. When you sign in, your VuCalendar account ID is shared with RevenueCat to link your purchase history — in-app and web — to your account. See Section 11 for more on RevenueCat and Stripe.

7.2 — ProVu Subscription

ProVu is a recurring subscription billed on the cycle you select at the time of purchase (monthly or annual, as offered). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

To cancel your ProVu subscription, go to your device's subscription management settings:

  • iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to ProVu features until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time in the current period unless required by applicable law.

If your ProVu subscription lapses or is cancelled, all features granted by the subscription are disabled. This includes all seven ProVu features (HistoryVu, Track Mode, Calendar Override, Backdate Planning, Multi-Adjust, Overtime Resolution Assistance, and Cycle) and any LocalVu features that were unlocked as part of your ProVu subscription. Your task data is not affected by a lapse. Any LocalVu features you purchased directly as one-time unlocks are not affected by the lapse and remain available permanently.

7.3 — LocalVu One-Time Purchase

LocalVu features are one-time permanent purchases. Once purchased, the features you unlock are yours indefinitely. They are not affected by subscription status, and they are not affected by future changes to our pricing or product structure for new customers.

Legacy purchase protection. If we later change the pricing, packaging, or availability of a LocalVu feature for new customers — for example, retiring a one-time product or moving its functionality into a different offering — your existing purchase remains fully honored. You keep the feature you bought at the terms under which you bought it. Future changes apply only to new customers from the date of the change forward.

One-time purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law or platform policy.

Restoring purchases. How a purchase is recovered depends on where you bought it:

  • In-app purchases (LocalVu, ProVu) have a store receipt on your Apple ID or Google Play account. If you reinstall the App or sign in on a new device, use "Restore Purchases" in the App's purchase area — this contacts RevenueCat to retrieve that store receipt and reactivate the entitlements.
  • Web purchases (Set & Forget, Founder Member, Theme Store) have no store receipt. They are tied to your VuCalendar account, so recovering them simply means signing in with the same account — there is nothing for the app store to restore.

7.4 — Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices and one-time purchase prices for new customers. For active subscriptions, any price changes are subject to the rules of the platform you subscribed through (Apple App Store or Google Play), which provide standardized user protections:

  • Advance notice. Both Apple and Google require us to provide advance notice before any price change takes effect for an existing subscriber. The exact notice period is set by each platform, typically not less than 30 days for material increases.
  • Opt-in for significant increases. For price increases above platform-defined thresholds, Apple and Google require your explicit consent to continue the subscription at the new price. If you do not opt in within the platform's window, your subscription will not auto-renew at the new price and will instead lapse at the end of the current period.
  • Your right to cancel. You may cancel your subscription at any time before a price change takes effect to avoid the new rate. Cancellation instructions are in Section 7.2.

Price changes to one-time LocalVu products apply only to future purchases. Features already purchased are not retroactively re-priced. See Section 7.3 for the legacy purchase protection that governs this.

7.5 — Refunds

Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase.

For purchases made on the web (Set & Forget, Founder Member, Theme Store), request a refund by contacting us directly at vuclndr@gmail.com. We process these refunds ourselves.

For purchases made in the App (LocalVu, ProVu), refunds are requested through the platform you purchased on — Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (Google Play Help → Request a refund) — and are granted under their policies, not ours.

After 14 days, all purchases are final and non-refundable. Set & Forget is a prepaid five-year term; it is not a subscription and does not renew. Founder Member grants twelve months of access; it is not a subscription and does not renew.

Refunded purchases have their access revoked.

7.6 — SkyVu (Coming Soon)

SkyVu is a future subscription tier currently in development. It is displayed within the App for informational purposes only. No purchase or commitment is made by viewing SkyVu information. Users who submit their email to the SkyVu waitlist are not charged and are not obligated in any way.

08

Account Deletion

You may delete your VuCalendar account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

8.1 — What Gets Deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes your Supabase authentication record, including your email address, hashed password, first name, and associated sign-in data from our servers. Your email-permission entry (if any) — for example, from the SkyVu waitlist or the Founder Member checkout — is stored separately and is removed on request; see Section 4.4.

All task data, task blocks, settings, and preferences stored locally on your device are not deleted by the account deletion action. This data lives in the device's local database and will be removed when you uninstall the App, or can be cleared manually within the App.

8.2 — Purchases & Account Deletion

Whether a purchase survives account deletion depends on where you bought it. This distinction is important, so read it carefully before deleting your account.

In-app purchases (LocalVu, ProVu) survive account deletion. Their receipt lives on your Apple ID or Google Play account, independently of your VuCalendar account. This means:

  • Active subscriptions continue to bill on their normal cycle after account deletion. To stop billing you must cancel through Apple or Google as described in Section 7.2 — deleting your VuCalendar account alone does not cancel a subscription.
  • You can reinstall the App, create or sign in to a VuCalendar account, and use "Restore Purchases" to re-attach these entitlements without repurchasing.

Web purchases (Set & Forget, Founder Member, Theme Store) do not survive account deletion. They are tied to your VuCalendar account itself, and no app-store receipt exists for them. Deleting your account forfeits these entitlements. Recovery is not automatic — it requires contacting support at vuclndr@gmail.com with proof of purchase. A minimal purchase-ledger record is retained for tax and accounting purposes (see our Privacy Policy, Section 13), but that record does not by itself restore access.

Because a web purchase can represent significant value, the App warns you before deletion proceeds — naming the entitlement and its remaining value — so the choice is never made blind.

8.3 — Re-Authentication Requirement

For security, account deletion requires re-authentication immediately before the action is confirmed. Password users must re-enter their password. Google Sign-In users must complete a fresh OAuth sign-in. This ensures that only the account holder can initiate deletion.

09

Data & Privacy

Our Privacy Policy, also available at vucalendar.company/privacy, is incorporated into these Terms by reference and governs all data collection, storage, and use in connection with the App. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

Key points:

10

Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions. Each is requested contextually — only when you first use the feature that requires it. You may revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

PermissionFeatureRequired?
Location (Foreground Only)Weather Adaptive Background — Device Location modeOptional
Push NotificationsTask reminders and inbox lifecycle alertsOptional
Storage / FilesImport Tray — receiving shared files from other appsOptional
Photo Library (Read)Personal Library background — adding photos from your deviceOptional
Calendar (Read/Write)Export — writing tasks as events to your device calendarOptional
Biometric (Face ID / Fingerprint)Pre-confirmation gate for destructive actions (e.g., account deletion)Optional

Biometric data (Face ID, fingerprint) is processed entirely by your device's operating system. VuCalendar never accesses, reads, or stores raw biometric data. Biometric authentication provides a user-experience convenience layer only; it does not replace password or OAuth authentication at the account level.

Photo library access is used only to copy a photo you explicitly select. Selected images are stored locally within the App's sandboxed directory. No photos are transmitted to our servers.

Calendar access is used only when you explicitly trigger an export. The App writes events you choose to export; it does not read your existing calendar data.

11

Third-Party Services

OpenWeather API

Used by the Weather Adaptive Background feature when active. Location data (coordinates or city name) is sent to OpenWeather to retrieve current conditions. VuCalendar is not responsible for OpenWeather's availability or privacy practices. Review OpenWeather's privacy policy at openweather.co.uk/privacy-policy.

Supabase

Supabase provides authentication infrastructure for VuCalendar accounts. When you create an account, your email address, hashed password, and first name are stored in Supabase's servers. Supabase is a data sub-processor acting under our instructions. Review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat manages purchase entitlements and presents the in-app purchase interface. When you sign in to VuCalendar, your account ID (a Supabase-generated UUID) is shared with RevenueCat to link your purchase history to your account. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts from Apple and Google to verify and track entitlement state, and it serves the paywall content displayed within the App for in-app purchases. RevenueCat's records are independent of your VuCalendar account and persist after account deletion. Review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Google (OAuth)

If you use "Continue with Google," VuCalendar receives your Google account email address and display name via Supabase's OAuth flow. This data is stored as part of your authentication record. Your use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

No advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or data brokers are integrated into the App.

12

Export Features

VuCalendar allows you to export your task data in the following ways:

All export operations are performed locally on your device. Exported files are generated in your device's cache or document directory and are not transmitted to our servers. Once a file leaves the App via the share sheet, it is subject to the terms and privacy policies of whatever destination app or service you share it with.

You are solely responsible for the security of exported files. We recommend taking care when sharing task exports that may contain personal or sensitive planning information.

13

User Conduct

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

14

Intellectual Property

14.1 — Our Property

VuCalendar — including its name, logo, design, code, visual assets, background animations, weather renderer, UI layout, and all other components — is the exclusive intellectual property of VuCalendar and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or brand identifiers without prior written consent.

14.2 — Your Content

All task data, group names, regiment lists, schedules, labels, artifacts, and other content you create within the App remains yours. You retain full ownership of your content. Because your task data is stored locally and not transmitted to us, we claim no license over it.

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups. We are not liable for data loss resulting from uninstallation, device failure, account deletion, or any other cause.

14.3 — Open-Source Components

The App incorporates open-source libraries used in accordance with their respective licenses. A list of dependencies is available upon request.

15

Notifications

VuCalendar uses push notifications solely to deliver task reminders and inbox lifecycle alerts you configure. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not require a server connection. Notification tone adapts to tracking mode — Practice tasks receive encouraging nudges, Guide tasks receive accountability-oriented reminders, and Completion tasks receive deadline-aware alerts.

We do not use notifications for marketing, promotions, or any purpose unrelated to your task planning activity. You may enable or disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

16

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy of weather data, notification delivery, export outputs, or any other information provided through the App.

16.1 — Weather Adaptive Background Disclaimer

The Weather Adaptive Background feature uses real-time data from the OpenWeather API to inform a visual rendering of atmospheric conditions. However, the animated scenes displayed in the App are artistic interpretations of weather data — not literal, photographic, or scientifically accurate depictions of actual conditions at your location.

The visual rendering engine makes stylistic and aesthetic decisions about color, cloud density, precipitation intensity, light quality, and atmospheric effects that are designed to create an immersive experience, not to serve as a weather forecast, meteorological tool, or safety resource. Factors including but not limited to the following may cause the rendered scene to diverge from actual conditions:

  • OpenWeather API data may be delayed, cached, interpolated, or approximated based on the nearest reporting station;
  • Transition periods (dawn, dusk, shifting conditions) are approximated, not observed in real time;
  • The renderer maps broad condition categories (e.g., "Clouds," "Rain") to visual presets — nuance within those categories is stylized;
  • Hyper-local conditions (microclimates, elevation changes, urban heat islands) are not captured by the API.

The Weather Adaptive Background is not a weather service, forecast, or safety tool. Do not rely on the rendered scene for weather-dependent decisions including but not limited to travel, outdoor activities, severe weather preparation, or personal safety. Always consult a certified weather service for accurate and current conditions.

16.2 — Photosensitivity & Health Warning

The Weather Adaptive Background feature renders animated visual effects in real time using React Native Skia and Reanimated. These effects may include — but are not limited to — simulated lightning flashes, rapid flickering, sudden brightness changes, strobing light, and high-contrast transitions across various weather conditions (e.g., Thunderstorm, Dry Thunder, Freezing Rain, Squall, and others).

These visual effects may pose a risk to individuals with photosensitive epilepsy, seizure disorders, migraine conditions, or other neurological or visual sensitivities. In rare cases, exposure to certain light patterns — including flashing or flickering lights — can trigger seizures, loss of consciousness, disorientation, or other adverse health reactions, even in individuals with no prior history of such conditions.

VuCalendar provides user-accessible controls to reduce or eliminate these effects:

  • Intensity — adjustable between Minimal, Balanced, and Immersive;
  • Motion — can be set to On, Reduced, or Off;
  • Atmosphere Style — adjustable between Subtle and Expressive;
  • Alternative background modes — Default Plane (static gradient) and Curated Cycle (non-weather-driven scenes) are available as alternatives that do not render weather-reactive animations.

If you have a history of epilepsy, seizures, photosensitivity, or any condition that may be triggered by flashing or flickering visual content, we strongly recommend:

  • Setting Motion to Off or Reduced before enabling the Weather Adaptive Background;
  • Setting Intensity to Minimal;
  • Using Default Plane or Curated Cycle as your background mode instead;
  • Consulting a medical professional before using the Weather Adaptive Background feature if you are uncertain about your sensitivity to visual stimuli.

By enabling the Weather Adaptive Background, you acknowledge that animated visual effects — including rapid brightness changes, simulated lightning, and atmospheric flickering — are an inherent part of the feature's design, and you assume responsibility for configuring the feature's intensity, motion, and atmosphere controls in a manner appropriate for your health and comfort.

VuCalendar disclaims all liability for any adverse health effects, injuries, seizures, or related medical events arising from the use of or exposure to the Weather Adaptive Background feature. This disclaimer applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction that cannot be excluded or limited.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

17

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR ITS FEATURES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Because task data is stored locally, we strongly encourage you to maintain device backups of any data important to you. We are not liable for loss of local task data under any circumstances.

18

Changes to the App & Terms

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; when we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top will change. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or other reasonable means. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the App.

19

Termination

These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App. You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your account (if you have one) and uninstalling the App. Uninstalling will permanently delete locally stored task data.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if we determine your use is harmful or contrary to applicable law.

Sections 14 (Intellectual Property), 16 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 17 (Limitation of Liability), and 20 (Governing Law) survive termination.

20

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For users located in the United States, these Terms shall additionally be subject to applicable federal and state laws.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation within thirty (30) days shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, except where local consumer protection laws in the user's jurisdiction require otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable under the laws of a particular jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
